Sistas with Brushes Exhibition

"The most inspiring thing about portraiture is being able to capture a moment in time and create a story with not just paint but papers, inks, pencils, aerosols and text. When you can get all that put together authentically enough, it is the most beautiful feeling in the world as an artist. I have always felt that portraiture is the truest form of expression as a painter. "

"I paint because it's fun!  When I'm around all the fascinating colors that I have the privilege to piece together into something special, I'm like a child in a candy store."

"I paint because it's therapeutic. Art has the power to heal and reveal.  With each stroke of a brush, within every hue, texture, line, shape and form, I have the power to impact and inform. My art gives a visual voice to the unseen and unheard, speaking volumes without one single word."
